Why does the representation vote matter?
Because the union that wins will represent workers in what comes next—including bargaining a new provincial collective agreement.
Why CUPE?
Because you deserve more than just representation after decisions are made; you deserve to shape the decisions yourselves. We want to help housing workers build enough power to influence what happens at work and win a strong new agreement.
What happens next?
Once the vote is tallied, if CUPE wins the representation votes, members of your local executive will be in touch with you directly to gather your bargaining priorities and strike the bargaining committee. You’ll have the chance to shape the direction and strategy of bargaining and show the employer you and your coworkers are united for a fair deal.
